As all of you may know, coronavirus (COVID-19) is a respiratory illness that can be transmitted from person to person. It is believed to be caused by a virus that can live on surfaces or remain suspended in the air near where an infected person has coughed or sneezed. In order to slow the spread of this disease, the CDC, as well as state and federal government officials have issued guidelines to avoid close contact with others or gatherings of 10 or more people.
Our Ministers, Deacons and Deaconesses, Teachers and other leaders join Pastor Morrison in continuing the commitment to congregational care. Effective immediately, ALL worship services, ministry events and other activities that take place on our Church campus are cancelled. This also includes rehearsals, classes, and ministry meetings. The Deacon and Deaconess Ministries will be placing phone calls to check on the well-being of all of our members.
During this challenging time, we need God more than ever. Pastor Morrison and Church leadership have prayerfully determined the following course of action:
As you can see, our “Old Message, New Methods” theme for March is applicable even more today than ever before. Thanks be to God, we already have the tools in place to keep our Church family connected during this crisis. Please visit us at mtpleasantorlando.org, or follow us on Facebook at @WorshipExciting. Listen for CallingPost phone messages with important updates for our congregation. View our virtual worship and Bible Study via YouTube and Facebook Live. Contribute to the support of the ministry through PushPay. Pray for our Church and our community during our MTP Prayer Room calls. We will continue to keep you updated as new determinations are made.
While others may panic, we will continue to pray and take precautions. Above all, we must remember that our God is Sovereign.
May God bless and keep you all until we meet again.
