About Us

The Evangelism & Outreach Ministries' primary goal is to support Christ's mandate to "go and make disciples." This is accomplished in several ways here at the Mt. Pleasant Church. Transportation, Hospitality, Prison outreach, Ushers, Veterans, and Security are some of the ministries you can connect with to share the love of Jesus Christ. Jesus said "and this Gospel of the Kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come. Matthew 24:14... Likewise, He said "I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me." Matthew 25:36

Ushers Ministry


The Usher’s Ministry is the primary point of contact for those entering the Church. We strive to reflect our motto “The Pleasant Place.” The Ushers greet all who enter the Sanctuary for worship, providing a comfortable, loving and orderly atmosphere. “For a day in your courts is better than a thousand elsewhere. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of wickedness.” Psalms 84:10

Transportation Ministry


The Transportation Ministry is an outreach ministry of the Church that provides transportation to and from worship services and special events. “Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and that the Master you are serving is Christ.” Colossians 3:23-24

Security Ministry


The Security Ministry Team stands watch during worship services and at special events to ensure a safe environment is maintained. Incidents are confronted and addressed in an effective manner that minimizes disruption and harm to people and property. The Security Ministry also focuses on prevention – training is provided to members and ministry leaders in an effort to better equip them to identify potential threats and respond appropriately should an incident occur.

Veteran’s Ministry


The Veteran’s Ministry recognizes the historic contributions of African Americans in the United States Military Service. This fellowship ministry of fellow soldiers provides an annual Veteran’s recognition event as well as provide support to veterans in the Church and the surrounding community. Endure suffering along with me, as a good soldier of Christ Jesus. Soldiers don’t get tied up in the affairs of civilian life, for then they cannot please the officer who enlisted them. 2 Timothy 2:3-4

Stephen Ministry


The MTP Stephen Ministry provides one on one Christ-centered emotional and spiritual support to help people who are hurting. Our primary objectives are to evangelize the unbeliever, disciple the believer and provide compassionate care to everyone. We are here for you!
